What more can be said about SatelliteSoft's PC Satellite TV player which comes in three editions--Satellite TV for PC Pro, Elite and Titanium. They have been around for years and are the most sought after (popular) Internet TV software service today. In addition, they have a proven track record of success and experience more so than any 3rd party software vendor out there today, but not without some controversy. However, the technology used is one of the best out there.The PC Satellite TV player does not come without flaws but the same could be said about all free and paid players. However, it continues to improve to stay ahead of competitors. We received a few software upgrades already which proves a point that is being made here.
And speaking of flaws, keep in mind, that broadband Internet television and streaming media that comes across your computer's IP address don't live in a perfect World either. Internet television is still considered in the baby-stage but it is improving rapidly and so will broadband Internet speed.
We decided to test the Satellite TV for PC Elite's TV player, since it's the most popular and each edition comes with the same player technology. Using a 2004 Toshiba Satellite laptop with a Windows XP operating system and DSL broadband connection, told us exactly how well the player performed using an old computer. Since many consumers use older PCs, we thought this was the best approach.

Downloading and installing the software is simple and quick to complete when using a broadband connection. There are some instructions along with steps to follow--easy enough for newbies to comprehend. Unlike some of the other software out there, you don't need to unzip software files and install them on your hard drive. This helps avoid running into problems and extra steps.

Free software for TV players simply don't compare because they don't have much value. On the other hand, paid versions simply offer more perks and far more sophisticated. For instance, you can perform your own channel update without having to contact the vendor to do this.
What this means is the user can remove broken channel links and update channels, stations and videos on the Satellite TV player without notifying and waiting days/weeks for the vendor to do it. We also liked the 'Add Channels' feature which allows you to add your own favorite TV channels/videos to the player. Therefore, lets you personalize your player even more so.
Before you had to get the vendor's permission and wait to perform this task. Most free including many of the paid players don't have this features, because there is no support.
The Satellite TV for PC 2009 technology is one of the best. It worked very well on our old laptop whereas most of the channels load and played--some channels experienced temporary down times which is to be expected, since all of it comes from Internet media providers who control the free media.
Channels either had good to very good quality when using a DSL broadband speed of 512kbps. We even used a wireless connection and found it to work well enough. Many channels did load and play (some faster than others). But we ran into some trouble with other channels that had larger bandwidths. They simply didn't load and play.
As a result, we highly recommend using an Internet broadband connection for all the channels to work. Using a 56k modem or dial-up is not recommended and would be a wast of time and money if investing in this highly rated Satellite TV player. It's also recommend installing anti-virus and spyware/adware software for added protection when visiting any website over the Net.
Overall, you get a fast loading/playback time, good picture quality, swift and easy interfacing that is second to none, easy-to-use navigation and streamlining that puts everything in perspective when pointing and clicking your way to Internet TV channels, radio stations, music and videos.
No large Satellite TV player user guide is required which tells you how easy everything really is. The only real downfall comes with broadband Internet--it does not give you a perfect World yet. At times, there will be some channels experiencing less quality pictures but are still viewable. To increase your broadband connection speed for higher quality will mean paying extra dollars to your Internet provider.
Keep in mind a DSL or High Speed connection of 512kbps works well enough. We were happy with the video quality and performance overall. Also keep in mind, your computer's video software, computer screen, and the sources where all the free media comes from plays a vital part in picture quality.
