How To Download/Install Satellite PC Pro Software

UPDATE: As of 8/1/09, downloading the Satellite PC Pro software no longer requires downloading and using Winzip or other extracting software. What this means is you don't need to extract, unzip or decompress Satellite PC Pro software files in order to install them on your hard drive. Therefore, please ignore the information below--unless you want to get a general idea how to use Winzip.

If you are not interested in the Satellite PC Pro software and just want to quickly learn how to unzip zipped software files using WinZip, go to step #10 below.

How to use the Winzip 45-day free trial to Unzip the Satellite PC Pro installation files on a Windows or Vista computer...

Because the software files are pretty big the merchant has decided to zip these files for a quicker download. You on the other hand, must use a software such as the Winzip to unzip files to your computer. The following are relatively easy steps and should help speed the process without any confusion.

NOTE: To help prevent any downloading issues from occurring you should close any and all running software applications on your computer. Especially, communication and anti-virus software currently running. As this can cause an unsuccessful download/installation of the Satellite PC Pro player. See all running software applications by checking in the right corner at the bottom of your screen. There will be icons appearing horizontally.

Usually, you can right click on an icon using your mouse and a menu will appear. Click Exit, Shutdown, or Close so the software is no longer running on your PC. As far as your anti-virus software, you will probably have to perform extra steps to do this. Remember! The Satellite PC Pro software is safe and free of spyware, adware, and viruses so there is no cause to fear.

Or if you prefer, don't shutdown your anti-virus software. Just know how to give it permission to install the Satellite PC Pro software if it doesn't ask you to do so while in the process. It's very important to understand what can go wrong when downloading any PC Satellite TV software. (In my opinion, it's better to follow instructions and close all running software prior to downloading the software.)

Key Notes: The downloading process should complete within than 5 minutes but that really depends on your connection speed. Once the Satellite PC Pro software is downloaded and files are installed, you should re-boot your computer to make all of your software applications running again (if you closed any of them previously).

Also, you will have access to a secondary download if the primary download doesn't work on your PC.

You should have anti-virus and spyware/adware software installed on your computer. The Satellite PC Pro is the least of your worries. It's the other unknown websites and download sites that you are unsure of.

Although the vendor (Satellite PC Pro) doesn't offer a free-trial to test his software on your computer, you can download another hi-tech Satellite TV player software that comes with a free-trial. This helps if you don't want to pay the one-time fee right away and rather test a Satellite TV player software on your computer's operating system, hardware and software already installed.

The end result here is if the free-trial Satellite TV player's video and audio works on your PC, then more than likely the Satellite PC Pro software will work also. STEP 2:

After you have paid the small one-time fee to download the Satellite PC Pro software, you will receive an email with a link to the all-in-one member's area. I didn't show the entire page to this area because downloading the Satellite PC Pro is the main interest here.

As you can see below, this is a very small segment of the Sat PC Pro download area. There will be other free software to download in other sections to this.

In your member's area, click the "Download" button like the one you see below.

STEP 3:

A small window will appear on your screen like the one below titled "Opening SatellitePCPro.exe". Click on the "Save File" button to begin downloading the Satellite PC Pro software to your computer.

STEP 4:

A small "Downloads" window will appear on your computer screen like the one below. It also informs you how large the file will be when installing it on your computer. For this 4.0 version, the Satellite PC Pro file size is 11.1MB. Also, you will find the SatellitePcPro.exe installer icon with the other icons to the left of your screen--red circle on the left side in the image below. You may also click the image to get a larger view.

Next, simply double-click the installer icon on the left of your screen. As for the Downloads window box, you can click close button (red X) to close this altogether. You don't need it now that you have the install icon on your computer.

STEP 5:

Next, a small "Select Setup Language" window will appear on your screen. Here you will select your language. There are only four currently being support--English, Deutsch, Francais, and Italiano. However, keep in mind, just because you don't see the language you prefer or want, there will be 78+ Countries with all types of languages (channels/stations) available for watching and listening. Hopefully, you do speak some (at least one) of these languages.

Choose a language by clicking the scroll down button and selection the language you want. Then click the "OK" button from the "Select Setup Language" window to begin the installation process.

STEP 6:

The Setup - Satellite PC Pro window should now appear on your computer screen. Be sure to follow each instruction precisely as you proceed. Click the "Next" button to continue.

STEP 7:

Read the license agreement if you choose, then click the "I accept the agreement." Click the "Next" button to continue. Note: the next window will indicate you will need at least 36.3 MB of free disk (hard drive) space on your computer. It also shows exactly where the files will be stored on your computer. You can change it if you want. (I did not change this at all).

STEP 8:

Next, keep clicking and following instructions. You are not required to change anything or do anything else but continue to click until you reach the "Ready to Install" window. Simply click the "Install" button to begin installation.

STEP 9:

Below is the installation window you will see as it gauges the process. It takes a minute or two to complete the installation.

Below, you will see "Completing the Satellite PC Pro Setup Wizard". Simply click the "Finish" button" to close this window. Either one or two things can happen up to this point.

You will see what appears to be a 3 layers of books where the Sat PC Pro zip file are contained on your computer screen (red circle) or,
You will not see the zip file mentioned in #1 but will see the Satellite PC Pro icon (blue circle)

If the actual icon appears in #2, you are set to go. Simple click the icon to open the Satellite TV player to begin watching computer Internet TV. If an icon appears like in #1, follow the instructions in Step #10.

STEP 10:

Here is where the WinZip (unzipping) software comes into play. You should already have WinZip installed on your computer, If not see the download link in Step #1. After installing a zipped software of interest, you should see a zip icon (or stack of books image) appearing on the left side of your computer screen like in the example below. Simple take your mouse and right-click on this icon (blue circle) and a menu will pop open like the one you see below. In the menu look for and click "Extract to..."

There will be other "Extracts... commands but the "Extract to (whatever is printed after it) is the one to click. This process usually completes itself very quickly. A folder will appear on your screen containing the software. Open the folder to see its content. If you want, you can also drag (using your mouse) whats in the folder to your computer screen.
